Inclusive AF: A Field Guide for Accidental Diversity Experts, Dr. Jen O'Ryan
I work with Native American tribes, and they often address everyone in an event as "tribal members" - while the audience is made up of a significant number of people who for example, staff the association, are from government agencies or are with vendors. This is tricky for me, as an association manager... to give advice on broadening their introduction, based on the history of colonization and being forced onto reservations (among other things). Any suggestions? I'm thinking of discussing it with the Chairperson privately.
Thanks you Jen and Brit!
